If memory serves, these two locomotives were used on a fan trip during the 1979 NRHS convention held in Washington, DC. On the return leg, the trailing unit caught fire and had to be put out by the local fire company. The train (and subsequently the formal banquet) were delayed a couple of hours. The late V.
