The ocean is to the west of the tracks, however, the locomotive is in "push" mode as evidenced by the rear marker lights being on instead of the headlights. I normally don't do going-away photos, but this was our last day in the area and we'd been trying for three days to get the "safe-surf" locomotive, so I'm forced to take what I can get.
