The lightweight observation car hiding under that tarp has to be either the Royal Canal or Royal Street, both ex-Louisville & Nashville cars built for Southern Railway's Crescent Limited. Each is privately-owned and operated in charter service. Southern's own three cars of this type were rebuilt into standard bedroom-lounge cars for mid-train use. Other cars of this "lookout lounge" type were one each built for the Atlanta & West Point, Florida East Coast and the New York Central, the latter two for Royal Palm service. The A&WP car is privately owned but not operable, the FEC car, Azalea, is that line's business car, and the NYC car was wrecked way back in 1951.

Nice. No matter how often this view gets done, it never gets old. Thanks for sharing!
