This (& your other Ethel entries) are wonderful scenes. Certainly the sunrise is magnificent and the Santa Fe cantilever silhouetted against the sky makes a striking image. You know, it's sorta like those who chased "steam in Indian Summer", the old Trains Mag series. The passing of these signal systems and their architecture is a dramatic shift in the nature of the "railroad earth" (to borrow Kerouac's phrase). Check out http://www.rrsignals.net/Atsf/Albuquerque/2ndDistrict/Lefthanded.htm if you're not familiar with this neat photo essay.
