While she looks like a 2-4-0, when the pilot was added, the side-rods were removed. Only the last axle is powered making the John Bull actually a 4-2-0. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for this part of history. US trackage was lousy and shoddy next to England's-- Trackage was responsible for many of the RR tragedies prior to and just after the Civil War.
