For those interested in old passenger cars, this Budd-built diner-counter-lounge car was built for the Chesapeake & Ohio's Chessie streamliner, a train that included dome cars, and was intended to be pulled by massive steam turbine locomotives. The train never launched as intended, and some cars were dispersed to other C&O trains, or sold, with some going to Argentina. The dome-observation cars saw service on the Pere Marquette district, before being sold to the Rio Grande, while the mid-train domes, with private rooms, were sold to the B&O. This observation car was intended for the Richmond-Newport News section of the Washington-Cincinnati train.

This is a very good night time view of a car with an interesting history.
