Robby - I didn't know one of these still existed. When viewing the thumb nail of this photo, she almost looks like a model because the passenger cars are small compared to the locomotive. After further observation, the car just to the right of the locomotive puts everything in perspective. Thanks for sharing.

Two exist still, this one, as well as one at the National Railway Museum in Green Bay, WI.

Thanks for posting this classic Robby. The previous post from Marty Benard mentions he never saw CRIP 3 in action. But he did see CRIP 1 & 2 as evidenced by his great photos. See photo id 267274 & 267249.

The third Aerotrain engine, number 1, was built for the Rock Island as power for their Jet Talgo Train, which was an ACF product. It differed from the two GM demos, RI 2 and 3, in that it carried a Blomberg front truck instead of a Flexicoil. And, right behind those two bus body-influenced Aerotrain coaches is an actual bus on railroad wheels, a customized Twin Coach vehicle, built by Flxble (correct spelling,) for a Missouri Pacific subsidary operation in Texas.
