I don't know why they still use a roundhouse and turntable in Cumberland, but I'm glad they do. Nice interesting angle Ed.

The roundhouse is only part of the original, maybe eight or so stalls left. They do oil changes, some electrical work, etc. In there. The turntable is very important, the units that need work come in on the "inbound" track, work is completed in the roundhouse or the old erecting shop, which has the wheel resurfacing and pits and such for the heavy work, and some work is done on tracks outside. If I recall rightly, beside the inbound and outbound tracks there are 34 more for all the work.
