Alex; You took a "so-so"...ho-hum scene and made it look respectable with all of those junky cars and trucks occupying one of Pittsburgh's auto pounds. But, the really sad part is that "Once Upon a time", this renamed railroad locale now labeled "BELT" was actually West Liberty back in the day when this was quite a exciting rail line. Just over your right shoulder was West Liberty Station, complete with train order semaphore...the auto pound junk yard was once a small rail yard that I first witnessed in 1973 as I, a young boy of about 17 years of age had, with the help of the devine from above, landed me a ticket with a seat way back in a open window car of the Independence Limited that toured the Norfolk & Western and Western Maryland behind SOUTHERN 4501, that on a brilliantly sunny Saturday morn, the 4501 stomped right around this curve, taking all of those coaches upgrade to Longview with barely a slip of her drivers...and me, way back in the train looked on in awe and wonder as we eased around this same curve, and inside the fence were the many railroad tracks no doubt used when the P&LE and P&WV swapped freight that one month went to McKees Rocks and the next month the P&LE delivered freight right here to the P&WV at this place called West Liberty. Now today, management has lost faith in itself and its ability to draw customers back to the rail, so the way out is to sell off the property. Such saddness. Such saddness.
