I have never seen this model engine before. Is this a Baldwin model? It does look like a baby face Baldwin.Excellant shot.

Very interesting picture and thanks for sharing. I agree, like a prototype that was before or after the sharks maybe. Odd creature but really cool.

Guys, Its an ALCo DL-109 and its almost CRIMINAL that not one of these beauties (?) was preserved. Other roads that had them included Southern, New Haven and Gulf, Mobile & Ohio. I'm not sure if perhaps someone else also had a few. They were a predecessor ( sort of) of the classic ALCo PA models. The last one left was a New Haven unit that was stored derelict in Boston until Penn Central had it cut up.
