I remember those old buildings well. There used to be an old electric railway that ran up top on the plateau from the quarry to the tipple at the left end of that horizontal conveyor visible coming out of the top left of the loading tower. Also of interest here is the cut up the side of the escarpment above the second unit that used to be an incline railway. At one time cars of crushed limestone could be lowered by cable from quarry railway to the CN tracks below (there was a mini-yard on that ledge visible above the mainline and of course a derail at the bottom in case of runaways). Apparently this method was not used for long, no doubt due to the inherent dangers and difficulty. The incline is now a part of the Bruce Trail system that runs from Niagara to Tobermory at the end of the Bruce Peninsula. The loop around Websters Falls down to here and back up to Tews Falls is part of a favorite hike of ours and you can still see a piece of the old cable lying off in the bushes in places, covered with weeds and soil made of decades worth of decomposed leaves.
