I REALLY want to get to Tehachapi and experience this up close but I just know I wouldn't want to leave. This is a REAL marvel. Although the Dash 9s, my favorite GEs are the mainstay for BNSF intermodal/ piggyback trains, I would love to seen an all EMD lashup like the SP did it back in the day. Anyway, spectacular shot Brad!

I was surprised this shot did not get a screener's Choice award. I took a two day trip here in 1978 and managed a few good shots and many duds. This is no place for inexperienced rail photographers. I was almost overcome by heat exhaustion; I was scared to death by a Gila monster. I stood in awe of the great mountains in the range. There was too much to do too many places to shoot from and I always seemed to have the sun in my eyes. My camera was jamming as well. One of my good shots is at this link. My money shot of the day with EMDs http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=241623. Yes, I had some issues here but this place is one of the great train shows on earth. Thanks Brad for your skill and patients.
