I may be seeing things, but I swear you can spot remnants of the original NYC cigar banner emblem on the nose under the PC black paint.

You can VERY FAINTLY... Also notice that the CR does nto look totally correct. It looks almost like the C is new and was just splashed on right over the letters that were there! This is while the R looks a little more (dare I say) formal? Maybe I am just nuts or need my eyes checked!

The only problem I have with this picture and some others here, the date cannot be correct. Conrail was incorporated on Feb 10, 1976 and began operations on April 1st 1976.
