I like this shot. One cannot get a shot like this nowadays as looking out the rear of a train is not permitted. To have been there when the Adirondack's head end (with a PA), came up alongside the C628 would have made putting up with the snow and cold worth it, with or without a camera.

Great photo. It's great to see those beautiful D&H C628's. You can still ride the end of some trains as I did in August '08 on the Pennsylvanian from Philly to Altoona.

Wow, awesome. I'm a big fan of the D&H. I railfan way upstate in NY however, at Port Douglas- a little south of Plattsburgh. It's too bad those beautiful D&H Alco locomotives can't be seen anymore- taken over by those big, red CP GEVOs! Thanks for sharing this classic for all the see.
