Enroute to a Permanent Change of Station to Nellis AFB in Las Vegas while in the USAF, I rode the Zephyr/Desert Wind/Pioneer from Chicago west. The train was routed through Cheyenne at that time (April 1982), so perhaps there was sufficient demand to warrant that stop?
