I believe I did a student engineer trip from Prentice WI to Steelton Yard in Duluth with this empty train. I remember the 308 being the leader. The SD-Ms weren't supposed to run on these Escanaba movements, only the Missabe SD38s, for horsepower reason, but with the cold winter in January/February 1996 we had failures with the 38s so the SD-Ms started to show up on these trains.
