Having their maintenance base in Selkirk, they also became the "house band" power for the PYSE/SEPY trains between Potomac Yard and Selkirk until Potomac Yard was closed for developers and Conrail started receiving separate trains from more distant points of the systems of its southern interchange partners, CSX and NS. I got to see (and photograph) these units many times going through NJ as a result.
