To me, this was one of the best times to be a railfan. Conrail was getting into it's Public Relations campaign to remain independent (for fourteen years, as it turned out) allowing steam and vintage diesel excursions. D&H as a part of Guilford bringing all sorts of New England power as far west as Buffalo. Note the presence of a B&M GP40-2 and a GP39-2, GP38 or GP38-2 in Guilford paint. By 1987, it was gone. It was very much like Brigadoon, there for an all too brief time, before vanishing again.
