Leave it to an out-of-towner to find some of the most unique locations in town. Cool shot, Dave!

Very nice, glad to see your time in Baltimore was productive. Looking forward to seeing some others from your trip east.

Well Dave, thats CSX for you. Much of the track in their system is in very poor condition to such extent that it bounces in places with every wheel that rolls over it. BTW Excellent photo!

Excellent Dave! Don't think I have seen any shots of trains from inside the Mount Royal station, looks like a neat place to watch though photography looks challenging but you pulled it off well. If you remember CSX had a pretty substantial derailment inside the Mount Royal tunnel including several hazmat cars catching fire.

David, Thank you. Your photograph brings back fond memories. I was five-years old in 1950 and my father took me on the Royal Blue from Mt. Royal to Washington D.C., where he had an office. The station was alive then and I remember this train shed, the tunnel at its end and the periodic flash of blue light bulbs as we passed them at intervals through its length, which I remember as quite long. In the mid 1970’s, I again had the pleasure of riding a short distance on a very old locomotive (with faded B & O livery), of a work train up to the tunnel portal. By then the whole station and train shed looked like they were on the verge of collapse. The station was abandon and the tunnel was dark and much too long to see sunlight on the other end. Why am I now seeing sunlight on the other end a short distance away? Can someone tell me if they destroy the tunnel in the ensuing years?
