Terrific shot of my favorite tourist railroad!

I think you may have photographed quite a rare move here, Bill. Normal operation called for the engine to run tender first from Heber to Bridal Veil, and then smokebox first up Provo Canyon back to Heber. It appears that 35 is running smokebox first down the canyon - very rare indeed. There was a wye at Heber City, but no turning facilities in Provo Canyon. I do know that in 1973 they ran two "divisions," one from Heber to Wallsburg (Deer Creek Dam), and another from Wallsburg to Bridal Veil. Could this have been the Bridal Veil-Wallsburg train? It normally had Shay 4, but I'm sure it didn't make it out each and every day. This operating scheme only last one year. It was way too complex and people didn't like having to change trains at Wallsburg. If you have any more Heber Creeper photos, please post them!
