They say a picture is worth a thousand words and what you have here all in one pic is the story of Winter (even if it's Spring) on Donner Pass. Awesome. PC, too.

I am envious of your photos.

HECK YEAH! Well worth the effort for this window on the action.
|
Thanks for braving the elements and sharing your story! Well done!

Well worth the effort! Great composition to show the snow fighting operations in the greater context of the rugged Sierras.
|
What an epic story to get the shot! And a fantastic shot it is!
|
You sure have done justice to the top railfanning story of 2011....thanks again!
|
Great story about a great shot! Well done!

Outstanding! Definitely PCA material. You should be commended for your effort at presenting railfan photography at it's finest. My hats off to you sir. Well done.

I'm definitely envious of your adventure up to Tunnel 13 to get this shot. Nice job, man. Some day I hope to have the opportunity myself. Unfortunately someone had to go and put up a pole along the tracks. What's up with that??

Wow, thats amazing how much trouble mother nature can cause!

I'm pretty sure the Donner Pass is THE place for snow shots. You can't really get this type of action on Stevens Pass because of the Cascade Tunnel. The winter of 2011-2012 dumped 689 inches of snow on that very spot.
