Heading into the eighties Conrail was becoming a tightly engineered road. These GE units had special enhancements requested by Conrail engineering and added with no regrets by GE. The General has captured a great scene for older railfans to reminisce about. It took many of us a long time to warm up to Conrail blue. In the end Conrail was worth the trip.
