Very nice shot! If this were taken from a vehicle, as it appears, this would actually be a "pace" shot. A "pan" would mean you were stationary with respect to the train. Steam is very neat, is it not?

Very nice pace shot! I was riding this train and had a fantastic time, glad you were able to record this historic moment. You make it look like we were going a lot faster than we really were, which is pretty cool. Hopefully the problems experienced with the 630 that day will not deter the NS from operating future trips without diesel assistance. A few folks from the general public on board were a bit irritated by the mechanical delays, but my answer to the few who asked why the railfans were still excited was that we have all waited 17 years for the opportunity to ride these trips!
