One of the many CPL signals seeming left behind when NS re-signaled the dry fork branch about 10 years ago, or in this case, when they abandoned one of the many branches.

No, the Beech Fork spur is still in use and not abandoned. The signal is operational and in use as we speak. Consol is rebuilding the huge prep plant up the hollow at Amonate 31 and this and several other CPLs guard the hollow entrance. All are low to the ground compared to most on the main and it's amazing as to how big they really are.
