With that strobe bracket on roof angle it brings to mind the WM's GP40s but I don't have roster info to determine if it is and the WM had snowplows on theirs where this one does not.

This is in fact one of the former WM GP40's, 3799. The strobe brakets were a Chessie addition from the mid 70's, but the extra jackpads are an as built feature of the WM's 5 GP40's. That and it has had its plow stripped off the front, and I would imagine the long hood end as well. Neat shot with the bridge in the background which caught my attention, the former WM unit was an added bonus!

Ah, thanks Scooter. Looking at this a little longer I now see holes and discolored vertical strips on pilot where brackets for plow probably were - or at least they coincide with where brackets on HO detail part are. Got Bachmann's HO scale 3797 and 3798 for Christmas. Their catalog has photos of models numbered 3796 and 3799 as well.
