That cinder cone in the distance to the right is also the source of all of the red rock track ballast that is seen in the Cajon Pass and in other parts of Southern California, including the rock ballast in this image. There is a little bit of Newberry Springs spread out all over out here.

Notice the lack of 18 wheelers on the highway, that's the way it always should be. There are still way too many trucks on our cross country highways.
