The two portholes flanking the engineroom door on E9s, and late E8s, were rubber-mounted and so appeared larger than the outboard pair, which retained metal frames because they were hinged to open for service access of hoses and cables. This view shows that in UP's restoration process, the road rubber-mounted the glass into metal frames so that all the openings look the same, a nice cosmetic touch.

Are these baby's equipped with dynamic brakes? I thought I heard some on the Video of them helping 844 on the tennessee pass.
