These have been around for at least thirty years. Please note that stenciled above the truck at the left of this photo it says SOU 981007. Please remember that The Southern gave the "Green Light to Innovations". These cars started out painted Safety Orange but have weathered to almost pink. These were almost always seen with a second M. of W. car which carried the switch points to go with the frog section seen here

This piece of track is being shipped by the Atlas Model Railroad company as part of their new 1-1 scale model rail line! :)

I always thought that the only use of these cars in the USA was for Sunnyside Yard/NYP operations...guess I was wrong.
