There's a photo series of this engine being cut up at the Northwestern Steel & Wire Company in Ron Ziel's book "Twilight of the Steam Locomotive". I do think that one of the M4a Coloradians should've been saved.

The CB&Q overall did a splendid job of preserving various steam locomotives. However, they did not preserve a single Colorado type locomotive. The CB&Q called them Colorado types instead of Texas types that other railroads used.
