Wow. I grew up in Southern Pacific Railroad country on the west coast. I have always had a secret wish to ride in the cab of a steam locomotive, or any locomotive for that matter. I've been lucky enough to be invited into the cab 4 times in my life, never went far but not many can claim being in the cab of a ICG GP10 in the lead of a 6 unit lash up on a 10,000ton coal train.....UP SD40-2 snoot (both in Sullivan, IL), CSX GEVO (Effingham, IL) and a NYS&W SD40T-s (Binghamton, NY)...priceless memories, great crew members who's selfless act of kindness embellishing a man's passion for trains.....
