This is about the time in 1957 I went with my dad from Cincinnati to Norfolk on N&W’s J-Class powered Pocahontas. As a seventh grader at the time, I counted only three N&W diesels that I saw on the whole trip. Our return trip from Williamsburg was via the 100% diesel powered C&O.
