Are the BNSF, and Santa Fe units not up for sale or something in the dead line? Why wouldn't CN grab some of them instead of the older SD60 units?

Not a deadline. The SD75M and 75I are surplus power.

They are all, BNSF & Oakway locomotives alike, in storage. The Oakway units are in storage because the term of their lease is up and BNSF is no longer allowed to operate them as such. Which is why some are moving on to other owners such as CN. EMD/Oakway is simply re-leasing them out.
