A wild lash-up, and only but a glimpse of a station long since rebuilt. Thanks for sharing!

Lovd the GG1's though I only saw brief glimpses of them in my childhood I remember them well.

Great Shot !! A legendary GG1 showing it's replacement "This is how we do it" Thanks for posting.

A beauty!

Great shot. I love how the (surprisingly) shiny GG1 stands out in contrast against the snow. Plus the kicked up snow gives a sense of movement.

Classic. Great photograph!

awesome shot! I didn't know the E60s could MU with the GG1s.

What a contrast ( I wanted a Rivarossi layout with a GG - 1 back in the day). What about the girl in the hot pants? Was/is she a ralfan?
Is this a secret back story?

GG1 The iconic American Electric locomotive

All of those wires have got to be an electricains worst nighmare. The wires go every witch way, how do you know what is what?
You know, it does my old heart good to see one of the old timers coming to the rescue of the very thing that was supposed to be so much better than it. Union Paciic had the same thing happen, a few years back, when the Challenger Steam Locomotive came to the rescue of the diesles that were designed to replace it as well. Those old trains can, truthfully say: "We may be old timers, but by golly, we are still good!!!"

@David Doty Sr.
When I recall the Cold War years, I remember courses that I went on. I discovered the risk of the "electromagnetic pulse". Luckily plain old steam locomotives are not affected by this attack tool. Hopefully we will never need to use them for that reason again!
