This photo, of a fantastically well done display, as well as the authors interesting remarks piqued my interest on finding out more about the history of the Central Pacific RR. Wikipedia does a good job in documenting surviving locomotives constructed by the CPRR along with other associated locomotives. They also do a good job giving a running time line of significant events in the railroad’s history.
