Indeed, that was probably one of the "Last of the Mohicans," David. For obvious reasons, this image really jumped out at me when I went through the morning's new additions to RP.net. Very nice! By the way, this is a former Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis unit. In her earlier years, since headed up the Dixie Flyer, Dixieland and Georgian passenger trains, as well as the Dixie Line's fast freight runs.

David, Thanks for sharing this excellent picture. I saw 863 a few times in the 1968-1974 time frame on the Memphis to Nashville line. There were many L&N Fs (I saw over 50 different units) on the Memphis line during this period. They seemed to be finishing out some of their last days on this relatively level line.
