Great shot, thank you for sharing it. The string of 40' boxes is almost as cool as the GP30!

I was born in the wrong generation. Awesome shot!

Photos like this make me feel lucky to have done so much photography back in the 60s and 70s. Each passing train contained a collection of road names that could make a young railfan spend hours dreaming about making cross country photp trips to track these almost mythical railroads down!

I was going to make some clever comment, BUT simply have to agree with Bob. What a collection of "Fallen Flags." It WAS neat to think about where all those off-line cars were coming from and going to, and what they may been transporting. Endless lines of containers or auto-carriers, just aren't the same.

Such a classic shot. I sure do miss the pre-1985 days and all the different railroads that still existed. Just yesterday I was lucky to see an old Chicago Northwestern box car here in Cali UP territory. I was shocked to see it among all the RailBox cars. Of course most of it was covered in graffiti and not worth photographing.

Love the old Northwest Boxcars that I saw growing up in Spokane, WA. Just need a NP car there to complete the NW connection.
