Zebras and PA Warbonnets!! For a Santa Fe fan, it doesn't get any better than this. Saw these as a kid and fell in love. Over six decades later nothing's changed. Thank you so much, Eugene, for sharing these glorious shots.

What a stunning image! It certainly exhibits why the Santa Fe has such appeal for many of us.

Spectacular photo and, oh my, the joys of Kodachrome! It's like a built-in saturation slider! We tend to forget in our snobbish era of L-series lenses and razor sharp optics--where photos taken today with sharpness similar to this would be rejected for undersharpened--that the 40s and 50s really were the stone-ages of color railfan photography. Thanks for sharing this wonderful look back!

What a great capture. I never knew RSD-5s helped the varnish over Raton. Thanks for sharing!

Oh, to be able to HEAR the SYMPHONY of of sound that must have accompanied this image ! PS: For ALCos pulling up-hill they sure do have clean exhausts.
