If memory is correct, PRR's Decapods were nicknamed Hippos. Don't remember the reason. Have a 1962 book titled Pennsy Power which will tell that.

Very nice shot of the PRR work horse - an I1sa shown her in all of her glory. They were big, massive, and nice looking brutes! The plentiful smoke is the icing on the cake along with the long distance tender. Thanks for sharing this facinating shot!

I love all of this old Pennsy stuff! Standard Railroad of the World, and for good reason! I think the items in the gondola are just orange, not on fire.

There is smoke from several locomotives in this shot, but I believe that's Caterpillar equipment in the gon.
