Well, I was having a good day until I saw this photo. Quite sad.

Wow, Mitch now you really are in my boyhood backyard. I grew up a couple miles up the road from this shot. I worked for the man who was hired to repaint the station there. I would love to see the rail line converted to a commuter line to ease conjestion on the local roads. Thanks for sharing.

And the people who bought houses 75 feet from the tracks will cry and wail how no one ever told them that where there are tracks, there might at some date be trains.

Earthen, Concrete bridge over Shady Lane (Fox Chase / Rockledge area) crumbled and was demolished many years ago. Unlikely any rail traffic North of SEPTA's R-8 Fox Chase Station every again

"Oh, the railroad track in the back yard? Well, they haven't run a train in decades and I hear they never will again, so don't worry about that!" says the real estate agent to the perspective new home buyers. I'm not sure why I like photos of abandoned tracks, but I do and this one has really piqued my interest. Great shot, Mitch, and I sure hope they can get this line running again sometime soon. Sorry about your luck new home owners; that track was there long before you were born or your new house was built, so just deal with it!
