THIS is a neat photo!!! If only it was an operator hooping up the train order instead of the stand, but it's still a neat picture of something once so common....thanks for sharing!

This is near my hometown. I like it that you referred to the railroads as what they were, not what they are now.

tsched, spent summers with my Grandma in a town near there (Toledo) after she moved from just south where my Mom was raised (Jewett). Pretty much every town in that part of Illinois was along a railroad. "What they once were", indeed. It was so cool seeing these all-white-incandescent position lights so far to the west as they once were.
