Andrew, I was headed to NM to photograph semaphores, and I drove through Lubbock about 18 hours before the storm hit. Boy, did I pick the wrong weekend, but it was also very interesting. Now I see why the railroads out that way have wind-measuring equipment on many of their bungalows (something I had not seen before). Between the sand in my eyes and barely being able to withstand the gusts, I could shoot about 30 seconds before being forced back into the car. What a storm!
