This old work horse was one of 180 units acquired by the C&O. A 4-axle B-B switcher, the GP (General Purpose) 7 was the first model switcher built by EMD. 2734 of these were built between Oct 1949 and May 1954. They are powered by EMD 567B 16-cyl. engines with 1,500 hp. The are rated 65,000 lbf traction at 25% power.

I remember seeing this one (or one just like it) pulling "197" through Baldwin. Thanks for the memory David
