This paint scheme was actually done for a reason. Back before the bridge washed out, there was a celebration of (If memory serves) the railroad having been in business for 100 years. In celebration of that, they painted the cab and nose area of this (and I think one other locomotive) silver. For a while it carried a special emblem on the nose to commemorate this.
