Fascinating how with the new oil shale discoveries we've seen oil trains pop up east of the Continental Divide en masse almost overnight. Great catch in the hilly part of Illinois they call the "Driftless Area".

Probably just looks that way. BNSF 9969 was assembled in Sahagun Mexico at a plant owned by CAT and Progessive Rail.

I was just in Savanna the other day and a oil train, and a BNSF oil train, NS goods train, and a BNSF inter model went by within 8 mins. Amazing and great spot to watch trains. Great photo with the bridge and Bluffs in the background.
