Ofcourse it had to be one of the few YN2 SD70MACs remaining at that time. Just like last year in Germany, when two BR 140s derailed in Untertürkheim... always the good stuff.

A different part of the country, I know, but...yesterday I was driving on scenic Saginaw Road (near the suburb of the same name immediately south of Joplin, MO), part of which parallels the Kansas City Southern Heavener sub which is on a higher elevation immediately north of the road. Trains, particularly southbound ones, are at track speed here and are separated only by several trees from the road below. I was thinking how terrifying it would be were there a derailment and cars, wheels and/or engines(!) suddenly started flying out of the trees. This photo reminds me why, may God forbid, if such a derailment happens I pray there are no vehicles or pedestrians below at that moment.
