Posted by Dana M. on June 26, 2014  Billie Bell - George Brooks an engineering consultant designed and created the GG1 and there is a plaque honoring him affixed to a wall in the New York Pennsylvania Passenger Station/Terminal. I believe he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and that it was the Pennsy that built them.
