This photo was taken in that narrow window of time between the huge Dixie outbreak of tornadoes (including Tuscaloosa, AL) and the late May one which had the horrific Joplin tornado. Lots of instability in the mid-American atmosphere that season. Great catch in this picture, which also is striking in showing the grade the engines are traversing, plus the Gold Spike Tower to boot.
