Neat photo! I've noticed similiar situations like this on other steam locomotives...SP 4449 has a driver from one of her sisters (I believe it is from 4443 or 4447) and K4 1361 has two drivers from two different sisiters. You can't blame the repair guy...use whatever part is in the best shape!

Great eye for detail! Parts is parts, its really neat to think that it is more than just the 4014 that is returning to service.

The use of similar parts from other locomotives of the same class was not uncommon when steam was running. If work on one locomotive was nearly complete and work on another of the same class was beginning, a part might be used from that engine to get the other out on the road sooner. The same practice is still in place today except the parts aren't as noticeable. Nice photo and good eye!
