For being at the tail end of railroad specific passenger service and the looming end of the Monon itself, it's amazing how clean this consist is. Impressive.

WOW, nice. I spent much of my teen years in that very spot, only a few years later in the early Amtrak era..... 21st. Street featured Santa Fe's last Alco switchers and EL RS2/3s working their yard to the south, GM&O f unit transfer strings on the IC among other goodies. Thanks for the Monon jems, Mr. Hawkins.

This was probably an inspection train or some other special run. Regularly scheduled passenger service over the Monon ended in 1967. Nevertheless, it is a fine looking train.
