I have noticed a lot of C40's in BNSF warbonnet with the orange panels. Wonder if the shop guys are doing it deliberately to add a little more color to a fading series of engines?

Just guessing here, I can only guess these engines need parts like any other locomotive but the parts are only orange or black because those are BNSF colors and they just don't want to waist the money to paint brand new parts. They could possibly try to paint really rusty spots in these engines. Again this is only guessing but it's what I figure is happening, they are just replacement parts.
